Community is defined as a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common, but my community is far from this traditional definition. My community is very diverse and has many different age groups and nationalities. My community is very important to me because I have lived in this neighborhood for as long as I can remember, and I have seen many old friends move away and at the same time have gained new ones who have been welcomed into our growing community. I am happy to say that my daughter is one of these new additions to this growing community, and when I take her to the public library, the playground, our local diner even just to the store. I am happy to see that everyone greets her with warm smiles and open hearts.
Unfortunately, not everything about my neighborhood can be perfect. I really dislike all of the garbage that is scattered everywhere. I wish that people could be more mindful about keeping our streets clean. I try my best to my part and sweep outside of my house, and when I walk down the street I always make sure to throw my trash in a garbage can, and not on the floor. I hope that my good habits will rub off on my daughter, but I only wish everyone else would care about keeping our neighborhood beautiful and clean as much as I do.
